A copywriter's rate depends on two things: which of the four property copy products they are writing, and which of the three rate models they sell it under. A per-word price and a per-page price for the same 500 words can differ tenfold. Here is each product priced separately, and why reading level beats word count.
Last updated: 21 October 2026. Every price point was read from a published rate card or survey on that date, and each one is linked so you can check it yourself.
Rates move. The structure does not.
What Does a Real Estate Copywriter Cost?
Most UAE property copy is priced per word, per asset or per month. The same 500 words can cost USD 75 or USD 500, depending on the model.
That gap is not a margin. It is a different product.
The published per-word anchors sit at USD 0.15 to USD 0.60, according to HigherVisibility, which works out at USD 200 to USD 600 for a typical article. WebFX puts a single blog post from a writer at USD 150 to USD 600 on the same basis.
Three published anchors
- USD 0.15 to USD 0.60 per word is the HigherVisibility range for SEO content writing, equal to USD 200 to USD 600 per article.
- USD 150 to USD 600 is the WebFX price for a single blog post from an agency or a professional writer.
- USD 100 to USD 149 an hour is the most common hourly rate for US SEO agencies, from Clutch, and USD 111 is the Ahrefs average, with independent consultants at USD 171.18.
Those are the entry points. What decides the price is the product, and there are four of them.
For the wider market rate picture, the Ahrefs pricing survey and Semrush both track what providers charge, and both land in the same range the UAE quotes sit inside.
What Are the Four Property Copy Products?
Four products, four different jobs, and a rate for each that a single per-word price cannot express honestly.
A copywriter who quotes one rate for all four is not being generous. They are pricing the easiest one and discovering the others later.
Product, unit, and what drives the price
| Product | Unit | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Listing description | One unit | Volume. A developer with 300 units has a production job, not a writing job |
| Project page | One project | Permit work, unit matrix accuracy, and the legal read on every figure |
| Community guide | One community | Research. Someone has to know the schools, the commute and the competing stock |
| Market report | One report per quarter | Original data. The DLD transaction register has to be pulled and read |
Each product has a different definition of done, so each has a different price. A quote that prices them as one line is a quote you will renegotiate at the second asset.
Price them separately. Always. Always price them separately.
Which Rate Model Should You Buy?
Three models, and each one moves a different risk from the writer onto you, which is the part that matters.
The model decides who carries the risk of a slow month, and who carries the risk of a bad draft. That matters more than the number on the invoice.
The three models and what each one hides
- Per word. Transparent, and it rewards length. It also pays for a 2,000-word page that says nothing, and it punishes a tight 400-word page that converts.
- Per asset. The cleanest model for property, because the unit is a page, a guide or a report. It puts the scope risk on the writer, which is where you want it.
- Per month. Cheapest per unit, and it is a subscription to a capacity rather than to a result. A retainer of 500 words a month and a retainer of 5,000 are the same price unless the scope names the unit.
| Model | Who carries scope risk | What it rewards | What it hides |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per word | The writer | Length, and not much else | Whether the words earned their place |
| Per asset | The writer | A finished, checked deliverable | How long the research took |
| Per month | You | Capacity you are not using | The unit, unless the scope names it |
Ask one question: what happens if the month is slow. A per-word writer has no incentive to work in a slow month, and a per-asset writer does. That is the whole difference between the two models.
The per-asset quote is the one that survives a quiet quarter, because a retainer keeps paying while a project stops. Clienvora's copywriting services page prices by asset for exactly that reason.
Clienvora's copywriting services page sets out how we price property copy by asset rather than by volume, and our content strategy services page covers where each asset sits in the plan.
What Moves a Copy Rate Up?
Five things, and only one of them is the quality of the writing itself. The rest are inputs.
Buyers assume a good rate means good writing. It usually means a hard brief, and the writing is the last step rather than the first.
Five rate drivers
- Research the writer has to do. A community guide needs the schools, the commute, the service charges and the competing stock. None of that is in the brief.
- Regulatory review. Every price, yield, size and handover date in property copy is a claim. A claim needs a document and a reviewer, and the reviewer costs money.
- Word count that earns its place. Orbit Media's blogger survey put the average 2025 post at 1,350 words, declining two years running, and a Visionary study found content depth correlates with ranking at 0.62 while raw word count correlates at 0.18.
- Turnaround. A launch date is a cost. A 48-hour turnaround on a project page is priced differently from a two-week one.
- Revision limits. Two rounds included, and a price per round after that, is the honest way to write it.
Notice what is missing. Nobody charges more because the writer is a better writer. They charge more because the job is harder to do properly.
What Does Listing Copy Cost?
The cheapest product per unit and the easiest one to get wrong, because it is the most templated.
A listing description is 80 to 150 words, written to a portal schema, and it has to be unique, because Semrush found that 52% of websites publish duplicate content with no canonical tag, and pages with unique descriptions carried 74% more organic keywords per page.
How listing copy is priced
- Per unit, in bulk. The rate falls as the volume rises, because the research is shared across the batch. This is the only property copy product where per-word pricing makes sense.
- With a template locked first. The structure, the required fields and the character limits come before the writing. Then each unit is filled against that structure.
- With a compliance pass. A listing that advertises a specific property in Dubai needs a permit reference and a working QR code, and Decree 6 of 2020 makes it strictly forbidden to display advertisements in Dubai without prior permission.
The failure mode is obvious once you have seen it. Thirty agents, one template, one paragraph of boilerplate in every description, and a portal full of pages that rank for nothing.
One template. Thirty pages. Zero rankings.
What Does Project Page Copy Cost?
The most expensive product, because it is the only one where the copy is a regulated document as well as a sales page.
A project page carries a permit, a unit matrix, a payment plan, a handover date and a set of claims that a regulator can read. That is a different job from writing a guide, and it is priced accordingly.
What the rate has to cover
- Permit coordination. The Dubai Land Department charges AED 1,000 per advertising permit and AED 5,000 for a project launch event permit, across fourteen categories. The permit has to exist before the page ships.
- Unit matrix accuracy. Sizes, views, orientations and prices change. A copywriter working from stale inventory writes claims that are wrong on day one.
- A legal read. Return figures, payment plan terms and handover promises need a second pair of eyes, and that is a cost line the writer carries or passes on.
- The takedown cycle. When a unit sells, the page has to change, and the RERA circular of February 2024 set a five-day removal window for violating advertisements.
This is where a cheap quote usually turns out to be an expensive one. The permit and the unit matrix are the two lines that get skipped, and they are the two lines that create the rework.
What Does Community Guide Copy Cost?
A mid-priced product, and the one where the research most often gets quietly skipped by whoever quoted it.
A community guide should tell a buyer what it is actually like to live somewhere. That takes local knowledge, and local knowledge is the one input a writer cannot bring from another market.
What a guide has to answer
- The commute, honestly. The 8am run from Downtown, not the straight-line distance a map draws.
- The school catchment, carefully. Named schools, the walk time, and the note that allocation depends on address.
- The running cost. Service charge per square foot, chiller charges, and what the handover fit-out excludes.
- The competing stock. How many units launch in the same community in the same quarter, because a buyer will ask and the silence is a red flag.
Local visibility matters as much as the copy. Moz found that 93% of local searches display a Local Pack, and Backlinko put 42% of clicks on local search results going to that pack, so a guide that never reaches the local layer is a guide nobody local finds.
The Copy Rate Comparison Checklist
Six checks to run against two rates before you accept either, and it takes about half an hour.
Run it against the scope, not against the sample. A sample portfolio is the best work the writer has ever done, and it tells you nothing about the rate.
Six checks
- Which product is this rate for? A listing and a project page are different products. If the rate does not name one, it does not name the other either.
- Is it per word, per asset or per month? And what happens in a slow month.
- What is the unit? One unit, one page, one guide, one report, or a word count with no ceiling.
- Who does the research? And who checks the figures against a document.
- How many revision rounds? And what a round costs after that.
- Who owns the draft, the notes and the source data? Ask for the file, not the published page.
Then ask for one deliverable you can verify yourself, with the source data behind it. A redacted project page still shows the method. Read it properly.
It takes ten minutes. It is the cheapest quality check there is.
Clienvora's SEO packages and pricing page shows how we scope content work by unit, and our copywriting services page covers the copy layer inside each asset.
Why Does Reading Level Matter for Property?
Because the reader is deciding whether to believe you, and complexity is the thing they read as doubt.
The Unbounce Conversion Benchmark measured landing page conversion at 11.1% for copy written at a fifth-to-seventh-grade reading level, against 5.3% at a professional register. The same study found a -24.3% correlation between three-plus-syllable word count and conversion, worse than the -15% measured in 2020.
What the evidence says about property copy
- One call to action. Flint McGlaughlin's research measured 13.5% conversion with one call to action against 11.9% with two to four competing ones.
- Specific beats generic. Build Grow Scale measured an 18% to 47% conversion lift for specific headlines against generic ones, and Conductor found a 36% higher click-through rate for headlines that contain numbers.
- Match the ad. Moz and Conversion Rate Experts measured a 212% conversion lift from fixing message match between an ad and the landing page, which is the same problem as a project page and a portal listing.
- The first screen does the work. Nielsen Norman Group eyetracking found 80% of visual attention lands above the fold, where the headline dominates.
None of this is about simplifying the property. It is about stating the price, the size and the date without decoration around them.
How Do You Check the Work?
Four checks, and every one of them takes less time than reading the draft twice for style alone.
Most buyers review a copy draft for whether it sounds good. It is a better use of the hour to review it for whether it is right, because sounding good is the part you can change later and being wrong is the part you cannot.
Four checks
- The figure check. Every number, date and size against a document. Not against the previous draft.
- The reading level. If the writer cannot state it, it was not measured. The Unbounce benchmark is the reference point, and the median landing page conversion rate across industries is 6.6%.
- The claim check. Every sentence that could be a claim, checked against a source, because a claim in property copy is a regulatory exposure and not only a copy problem.
- The template check. One unit compared against the other twenty-nine. If you cannot spot the difference in the first line, the batch is not batch written.
Ahrefs found that 33.4% of title tags in Google search results are rewritten by Google, and Moz and SearchPilot measured a 20% organic session loss from rewriting titles to chase higher-volume keywords. The cheapest copy check is also the one that catches the biggest mistake.
Does AI Change the Copywriter Rate?
It lowers the price of the draft and raises the price of the edit, and the second effect is larger.
AI drafts are cheap because a draft is cheap. The Content Marketing Institute measured 21% more conversions from AI drafts edited by humans than from fully human copy.
The editing is what costs. Nobody needs a cheaper first draft. They need a cheaper second draft, and a better review.
What changes in a quote
- Less time on the first pass. The rate for producing raw words falls, and the rate for producing publishable words barely moves.
- More time on the review. The Content Marketing Institute found AI output edited by humans outperforming fully human copy, so the review is where the value is, and the review is the part that gets cut first when a quote is tight.
- Less time on research, more on verification. AI can find local detail, and it cannot check it. The rate for checking moves to the front of the quote.
For AI search specifically, the writing has to be quotable as well as readable. Rankability measured the correlation between AI Overview brand visibility and branded mentions at 0.664 against 0.218 for backlinks, and Ahrefs found 72.8% of AI-cited pages have zero referring domains, so the citation rests on the words on the page.
Clienvora's AI search optimization services page covers that layer on its own, and our guide to why AI copy fails covers the editing half of the same problem.
How We Measured This
I measured what a copy retainer is usually maintaining, so that every rate has a denominator behind it.
The rate anchors come from published rate cards. I measured the market they apply to from the Dubai Land Department's register of licensed Dubai brokerages, read on 20 October 2026, so a rate has a denominator behind it.
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Licensed brokerage offices in Dubai Emirate | 9,944 |
| List no website on the register | 9,175 (92.3%) |
| List a website on the register | 769 (7.7%) |
| Unique website domains in the crawl frame | 708 |
| Domains that answered the crawl | 490 of 708 |
A copy retainer in this market is usually maintaining a single page rather than an estate, and that is the honest reason a per-asset price beats a per-word price here. The method and the raw data are on our UAE Property Site Index.
This is a snapshot. The register moves daily. Check the date.
Measured on the same market, the mean citability score across 472 scored brokerage sites is 22.7 out of 100, and a written, quotable answer is most of what that module measures. The written layer is where this market is thinnest.

Frequently Asked Questions About Real Estate Copywriter Rates
How much does a real estate copywriter cost in the UAE?
Per word, published anchors sit at USD 0.15 to USD 0.60, which is USD 200 to USD 600 for a typical article. WebFX puts a single blog post from a writer at USD 150 to USD 600. Per hour, the most common rate for US SEO agencies is USD 100 to USD 149, and the Ahrefs average is USD 111 with independent consultants at USD 171.18.
Is it cheaper to pay per word or per page for property copy?
Per asset is usually cheaper in practice, because per word rewards length and property copy rarely needs it. A Visionary study found content depth correlates with ranking at 0.62 while raw word count correlates at 0.18, and Orbit Media measured the average 2025 post at 1,350 words and falling. Pay for the asset, and cap the revisions.
Why does project page copy cost more than a community guide?
Because the project page is a regulated document as well as a sales page. It carries a permit, a unit matrix, a payment plan and a set of claims a regulator can read. Decree 6 of 2020 makes it strictly forbidden to display advertisements in Dubai without prior permission, and the RERA circular of February 2024 set a five-day removal window for violating advertisements.
How much should I pay for listing descriptions in bulk?
Price it per unit rather than per word, because listing copy is a production job. Semrush found 52% of websites publish duplicate content with no canonical tag, and pages with unique descriptions carried 74% more organic keywords per page, so the only reason to pay per unit is that someone checks each one.
Does a cheap copywriter cost more in the long run?
Sometimes. The reason is predictable. A tight quote skips the two expensive inputs on property copy, which are the permit coordination and the unit matrix accuracy.
When the page ships with a stale price or a missing permit reference, the rework lands on your timeline, and the RERA takedown window is five days. That is the cost.
Should I hire a copywriter or let AI write the drafts?
Let AI draft and pay for the edit. The Content Marketing Institute measured 21% more conversions from AI drafts edited by humans than from fully human copy, and Moz and Conversion Rate Experts measured a 212% lift from fixing message match. The review is the value, so do not cut the review to save money on the draft.
